About KISUMU YOUNGSTARS HOCKEY CLUB(KYHC)

Kisumu Youngstars Hockey Club (KYHC) is a registered field hockey sports organisation based in Kisumu Kenya, East Africa.
KYHC is a non-profit sports organisation. KYHC does not support or promote any religious or political
mission, vision, objectives, statement, case or person.

The team was formed in 2011 and it is registered with the Kenya Hockey Union.
K.Y.H.C is a self-sponsored, as a team we majorly relies on well-wishers and
members contributions to meet our financial needs.

K.Y.H.C team consists of youths from Kisumu Town Central who are still in high school,
those who have completed high school, and those in colleges.
Our team has grown exponentially in experience, skill,
and performance, and we are very proud of our achievements.

Our Objectives

Promoting Talent, Education and Career

Talent

K.Y.H.C helps in nurturing talents among school-going students. This is made possible through coaching and training in preparation for the league games. We mainly target high school students.

Education

The club supports players in navigating tertiary education through scholarships. Our players often secure sports scholarships at colleges and universities.

Community Service

Through community service, our players regularly participate in activities such as blood donation drives to benefit the society.

Our Achievements

Our club has made significant strides in nurturing talent, participating in corporate social
responsibility (CSR) activities, helping players secure scholarships, sponsored education
for some of our players, and assisting them in finding employment.

Here are some of our key achievements:

1. Nurturing Talent:
Over the past years, Kisumu Youngstars Hockey Club has successfully trained
and developed over 100 young athletes, transforming raw talent into skilled players.
Our structured training programs and dedicated coaching staff have enabled our teams
to win multiple regional and national championships,showcasing the high level of talent
and dedication within our club.

2. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):
We actively engage in community service projects, including organizing free hockey clinics
for underprivileged children and promoting sports as a means of positive engagement.
Our club members regularly participate in community clean-up drives, blood donation drives,
visiting home for the underprivileged, health awareness campaigns, and educational workshops,
fostering a sense of responsibility and community spirit among our players.

3. Scholarships and Educational Opportunities:
Kisumu Youngstars Hockey Club has a proud history of helping our players secure scholarships to prestigious
colleges and universities e.g Kisumu Polytechnic, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology and
Strathmore University among others. In the past years, we have facilitated scholarships for god number of
players, enabling them to pursue higher education while continuing to play the sport they love.
Our partnerships with educational institutions have opened doors for our athletes,
providing them with opportunities to excel both academically and athletically.

4. Employment Assistance:
We understand the importance of career development for our players. Our club has established a network of
local businesses and organizations that offer job placements and internships to our athletes.
Through our career counseling and job placement programs, we have successfully helped players
find meaningful employment, ensuring they have a stable future beyond their sports careers.
